Keyword Research

Find the keywords that win traffic and AI citations

The Keyword Research agent pulls live keyword data, your Search Console queries, and competitor SERPs in one pass — then tags every keyword with intent, difficulty, and whether an AI Overview already answers it. One click clusters them into topics and hands a brief to the writer.

Keyword research

Keyword difficulty for your site. Not for the average site.

SearchChamp pulls live volume, difficulty, intent and SERP data at query time, reconciles it against your own Search Console, then scores every keyword against your domain — with the evidence behind the verdict one click away. Each row also shows whether an AI answer already ate the click.

5.4 billion+ keywords indexed · live data on every search · difficulty scored against your domain · every verdict shows its evidence
Honest difficulty

A 45 for an established site is a 78 for yours.

Most tools compute difficulty once and show everyone the same number — one well-known competitor openly averages other vendors’ scores. SearchChamp scores every keyword against your domain’s own authority, so a term that’s a long shot for a three-month-old site reads differently for a five-year-old one. And when there isn’t enough data to be honest about it, we hide the score instead of inventing one.

Difficulty scored against your domain — not a generic average
The score stays hidden until there’s real data behind it. Never a fake number
Search Console impressions reconciled against our keyword index, so volume reflects what you can actually reach
Winnable and Google rank are Google-calibrated — Google SERP data only, never blended with Bing
Show your work

Every verdict comes with its receipts.

Click any verdict and SearchChamp tells you why in one sentence, then shows the numbers underneath. No other keyword tool will tell you where its score came from.

SERP weakness — weak domains in the top 10, your live rank, how many results are directories
CTR gap — your actual click-through rate against what your position should earn
AI citations — how many AI engines already cite you for this term
Unanswered questions — People-Also-Ask nobody has covered, each with “Add as keyword” and “Write answer”
Not scored yet? The button says exactly what it costs: Analyze this keyword (1 credit)
Volume isn’t the whole story

8,100 searches. Three of five AI engines already answer it.

Volume tells you demand. It doesn’t tell you whether a click is left to win. Every keyword row carries a live AI-citation badge from the nightly visibility check, so you know before you commission the article whether an AI answer has already absorbed the query. And local volume sits next to global volume instead of pretending they’re the same number.

A live ✨ AI: 3 citation badge on every row, straight from the AI Visibility check
Local and global volume side by side — 320 / 1,900 global
Opportunity (0–100) blends volume, difficulty and your current position
Two saved lenses that find the money: “GSC rising, no rank” and “Top-3 Google, 0 in AI”
Clusters, not piles

36 clusters, each with its own scoreboard.

Competitors mention clustering and move on — one abandoned its cluster page, another exiled its grouper to a free micro-tool. Here a cluster is a campaign with its own numbers: how many pages cover it, your average position, how many of its prompts AI cites, and how many keywords clear the winnable bar. Sitting on an ungrouped pile? Run Group by AI for a reviewable pass before you commit to it.

Per cluster: pages covered, average position, AI citations, winnable count
Trend chips on every cluster — spiking · new · flat
“Suggest a new cluster from my data”
Select a winnable set and send it to the Content Writer in one batch — each keyword reports back created, already briefed, or skipped

Competitor cross-reference

The terms they hold and you don't.

Or mine the questions instead: give SearchChamp a topic and it surfaces the questions real people ask around it — pulled from live search data, refined by an AI pass, then ranked by strength and handed back as a ready-to-use FAQ set. Each run draws from your plan’s monthly question-mining allowance.

Import a Semrush or Ahrefs CSV to bring an existing list in. Manual add is free — it never uses credits. Research runs in 90+ country/language markets.

Keyword lifecycle

Idea → Targeted → Ranking → Won.

State isn’t something you maintain. It’s derived from your live position: top 3 is Won, 4–20 is Ranking, anything with a page committed to it is Targeted, the rest are Ideas. Snooze whatever you’re not ready for and it clears your view for seven days without being deleted.

FAQ

Questions about keyword research

Six questions, six straight answers.

01

Because a generic score assumes an average site — and yours isn't average, in either direction. SearchChamp weighs each keyword against your domain's own authority, so the same term can read 78 for a new site and 45 for an established one. When there isn't enough data to score honestly, the score stays hidden rather than faked.

CAPABILITIES
02

Live keyword and SERP data pulled at query time, reconciled against your own Search Console impressions. And a caveat competitors won't print: “Global” is United States English data under the hood — no provider has a true worldwide keyword index, and our region picker says so.

CAPABILITIES
03

No — you need both, side by side. Google rank stays Google-calibrated, with its source attributed on the row. The AI badge from the nightly visibility check sits next to it, so you can see when a term you rank for has already been absorbed by an AI answer — or when you're #1 on Google and invisible in AI.

CAPABILITIES
04

Push is the point: select a winnable set and send it to the Content Writer in one batch — each keyword reports back created, already briefed, or skipped. Coming the other way, import a Semrush or Ahrefs CSV to bring an existing list in.

INTEGRATION & SCALE
05

Research runs do, and the cost is on screen before you click — the dialog shows your live allowance, like “Keyword research: 120 left of 120”. Scoring a single keyword costs exactly what the button says: Analyze this keyword (1 credit). Manual add is free — it never uses credits.

PRICING
06

Your plan sets the slots — the meter is always on screen, like “2 of 3,000 tracked keywords used”, and it tells you how many slots an add will use before you commit. Untrack a keyword to free its slot — it's restorable, not gone.
