Citations × Rankings

How your Google position relates to being cited by AI engines.

This tab answers a question every SEO asks once AI answers matter: does ranking well on Google still get me cited?

The Citations × Rankings tab with position-vs-citation charts

What it shows

  • A headline finding — e.g. "Citations concentrate at position 9 or better", with the number of cited-and-ranked pages it's based on.
  • Position vs. citation frequency, by engine — where in the Google results each engine tends to draw from. Engines differ, and the difference matters.
  • Cited vs. never-cited, by position band — how many of your pages in each band (≤1, ≤3, ≤10, >100) get cited versus never do.
  • Bing position vs. AI citations — a paired table for engines grounded in Bing rather than Google.

Reading it honestly

The page states its own limits, and they're worth respecting:

A directional signal, not a causal one: when one moves, the other tends to follow, but a single week's shift is never proof of what caused it.

Bing is checked weekly while Google positions are checked daily, so the two are reported separately rather than blended.

Use the persona chips to see whether the relationship holds for every buyer segment or only some.
