Fan-Out

The sub-queries an AI engine generates before it answers your prompt.

Before an AI engine answers, it breaks your question into smaller sub-queries and researches each one. Fan-Out shows you that breakdown — because you win or lose the answer at the sub-query level, not the prompt level.

What's on the tab

  • Set stability — whether the engine generates the same sub-queries each run, or keeps changing its mind. An unstable set means the answer is volatile for reasons that have nothing to do with you.
  • Compare generations — diff one fan-out run against the last, to see which sub-queries appeared or disappeared.
  • The graph — your prompt in the centre, its sub-queries radiating out. Filter by engine.

Both comparisons need at least two recorded runs, so a newly-tracked prompt will say there's nothing to compare yet.

Why it matters

If you're absent from an answer, Fan-Out usually shows why: you cover the main question but not the sub-query the engine actually researched. That sub-query is your content brief.
